Eat your way happy with these award winning Strawberry Salsa!! This 6 Ingredients Fruit Salsa is surely one of the best summery appetisers, I can vouch!!
Loaded with Strawberries and some really simple staple ingredients from your pantry, this recipe can be stirred up in just 10 minutes.
I recently visited our local high street, where I found a farmers market vendor sell lots of strawberries for a bargain. I really could not hold back and brought back home 1 Quart of dark red Strawberries.
We enjoyed some of the freshest strawberries as it is, whilst the remaining strawberries went into making something super delicious – Strawberry Salsa. We actually gobbled the whole bowl of Salsa in just under 6 hours between the two of us, when it was meant for serving at-least 4 people :).
My inspiration for making this colourful salsa is from my Mango Salsa that I made last summer. I don’t have recipe on my blog yet, as the pictures did not come out well to make it to the blog – Blogger’s life!!!
I also like to make these Foil Packet Potatoes, Quick Veggie Quesadilla, Mango Lemonade and Strawberry Salsa for barbecue parties.
Easy Strawberry Salsa Ingredients
You actually do not need a lot of fancy ingredients to make this colourful flavour packed salsa. Just 6 Ingredients it is!
Strawberry – If your Strawberries are Ripe & Juicy, you can serve them immediately. But if the strawberries did not turn out extra ripe, they would still work. Just allow the strawberries to soak in the maple syrup, lemon & lemon zest mixture and chill them for at-least 30 minutes..
Jalapeño – I think jalapeños work great in any salsa. They are mildly spiced chilli. So add them in moderation. If you like the heat, add the seeds along. If you do not have jalapeño accessible, add green chillies instead!
Red Onion – Red Onions in particular, compliment the colours really well in the Strawberry Salsa. But feel free to swap it with white onions if you like.
Cilantro / Coriander leaves – Cilantro is an absolute fridge staple in my house and I cannot think of omitting this ingredient at all.
Lemon or Lime – I had plenty of Californian Lemon in my fridge, so decided to go ahead with that. But if you have some Lime, you can as-well use them.
Maple Syrup or Honey – If you would like to go Vegan, use Maple Syrup. Otherwise Honey is great too!
{Pinch of Salt & Pepper to Taste }
Other Variations to add – You may add deseeded diced peppers, avocados or even cucumber and call them Cucumber Strawberry Salsa or Avocado Strawberry Salad.
